Local Appearance by Author Mark Werner


Mark Werner, author of Army Fatigues: Joining Israel's Army of International Volunteers, will speak on Sunday morning, December 14th, 10:00 AM at Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Author Mark Werner will chronicle his experience during some of the most traumatic years in Israel's recent history, the second Intifada. He'll talk about the daily lives of Israeli soldiers and civilians, ofering an insider's view of Israel's armed forces, as well as a portrait of a democratic society structured on self-defense. The author also explores the motivations of his fellow volunteers, for whom volunteering is often part of a personal journey as well as a personal commitment to the war on terror.

Mark Werner is a successful corporate lawyer and the son of a Holocaust survivor, who grew up with a strong connection to Israel.
