The Center for Jewish Art

In April, 2006 Helene Yentis was the guest speaker at our SFAJL chapter meeting (read the minutes). She gave a fascinating slide presentation on medieval illuminated Hebrew manuscripts. Now she's emailed to tell me that her dream of opening The Center for Jewish Art has been realized.

Located in Boynton Beach, this center will offer exhibitions, classes, and lectures on Jewish art. Their nicely-designed web site offers this description of their goals:
Welcome to a new, unique and different not-for-profit organization in Boynton Beach, Florida. The Center for Jewish Art blends the notion of a gallery with a scholarly venue for the enjoyment, appreciation and purchase of fine quality art in all media by contemporary Jewish Artists. The Center for Jewish Art will create a synergistic relationship between artists, collectors and the general public and serve as a liaison between these groups.
