Mark Blevis, Social Media strategist, producer, speaker, community developer, columnist and podcasting conference organizer, will be a featured speaker at the AJL Convention in Chicago in July, 2009. He is well-known in the podcasting community, especially in his native Canada. Of the many podcasts he produces, my two favorites are The Canadian Podcast Buffet (a show about podcasting for podcasters) and Just One More Book (a show about children's literature).
His session will be called "How I learned about Amazing Jewish Books through Social Media." He says "I’ll be highlighting ways in which Jewish children’s books and their authors and illustrators are being promoted using the Internet, and how communities of people are engaging in the conversation about Jewish literature."
